Curriculum Development

Clemence Jacob has extensive experience in designing and implementing academic and vocational curricula in logistics, transport, and supply chain management. He played a key role in the development of the Transport and Logistics Curriculum for the University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) in Rwanda, ensuring its alignment with Higher Education Council (HEC) standards until full approval

Clemence guided the review and academic evaluation of the University of Rwanda's logistics curriculum under the oversight of the Higher Education Council (HEC). This process involved ensuring that the curriculum content was aligned with international professional standards, while meeting national academic quality benchmarks set by HEC

Pioneering CILT Education in Rwanda

In 2024, Clemence Jacob spearheaded the establishment of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) School in Rwanda, becoming the key figure responsible for all educational activities. As the Director of Education, he led the rollout of CILT-accredited training programs, serving as the main focal point with CILT International for exam setting, curriculum delivery, and academic quality assurance.

Starting with a small cohort of pioneering students, the program gained significant traction in 2025, attracting corporate sponsorships and enrolling employees from logistics firms and public institutions. Clemence has also been instrumental in the development of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, and he is currently leading the design of a specialized logistics and transport course for the Rwanda Air Force, aligning professional training with both CILT standards and national capacity-building goals.

Industrial Attachments and Practical Exposure

Clemence Jacob emphasizes the importance of practical learning in logistics education and has actively engaged in industrial attachments and field-based training to bridge theory and practice. In 2023, he undertook a professional attachment with Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Rwanda, where he conducted a detailed assessment of warehousing operations, transport flow networks, and regional distribution linkage

Clemence also encourages and supervises students during their industrial attachments, ensuring their placement in relevant logistics organizations where they gain hands-on experience in warehouse management, fleet operations, procurement processes, and customer service systems. His strong network across Rwanda and Zimbabwe enables him to facilitate impactful attachments that support real-world learning and job readiness.
